Kobby Mensah, a lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, has come forward with allegations of continuous harassment, verbal abuse, and threats directed towards him due to his outspoken criticism of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
Mensah, who specializes in Marketing Political and Political Communication, revealed that these hostile actions are primarily orchestrated by his academic colleagues on a daily basis, leaving him disheartened and frustrated.
Taking to social media to express his dismay, he emphasized the distress caused by the ongoing confrontations and denigrations targeted at him.
Expressing his disappointment, Mensah highlighted that despite previously critiquing the government during the Mahama era without facing such backlash, his current outspokenness against the NPP administration has triggered a sudden wave of animosity from his fellow academics.
“I am greatly disappointed and at times infuriated by the conduct of these colleagues, who resort to name-calling, direct confrontations, and negative remarks against me solely based on my critical stance toward the NPP government,” Mensah shared in a social media post on Monday.
Further debunking claims that his criticism is motivated by aspirations for government appointments, Mensah clarified that his actions align with the principles of Political Marketing as he analyzes and critiques political strategies without ulterior motives.
Despite facing mounting pressures within academic circles, Mensah remains resolute in his dedication to unbiased political analysis, urging aspiring professionals in the field to persevere in the face of adversity.
In response to online detractors accusing him of bias towards the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mensah reiterated his commitment to impartial and strategic political evaluation, urging critics to understand the essence of objective scrutiny in political discourse.
