Renowned actress and film producer, Kafui Danku, has thrown her weight behind the presidential candidacy of former National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader,
John Dramani Mahama, and his running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, in the upcoming December general elections.
Danku, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, joins a growing list of celebrities and media personalities who have boldly declared their support for Mahama ahead of the crucial polls.
In a recent statement, Danku emphasized that her endorsement of the former president is driven by a deep-seated desire to see Ghana restored to a state of prosperity and integrity, where her family and fellow citizens can thrive in a safe, transparent, and economically vibrant society.
In a poignant 2-minute, 50-second video released to endorse Mahama, Danku highlighted the urgent need for effective leadership to navigate the country through its current challenges.
She praised Mahama’s leadership qualities, including his experience, character, compassion, and accessibility, as key attributes needed to turn Ghana’s fortunes around.
“As we face tumultuous times and watch our nation’s dignity slip away, it is imperative that we rally behind a leader who can bring about the necessary change,” Danku asserted.
“John Mahama possesses the requisite experience and proven track record to steer Ghana towards a brighter future. We need a unifying figure who can address our concerns and restore Ghana’s standing on the global stage.”
With widespread disillusionment and numerous scandals plaguing the incumbent government, Danku stressed the urgency of electing a leader who can instill confidence and stability in the nation.
She called on all Ghanaians to set aside their differences and unite in pushing for the positive transformation of their country.
“This endorsement is not about personal gain, but a collective call for the restoration of our nation’s greatness,” Danku declared.
“Let us stand together, voice our aspirations, and work towards a prosperous future under the capable leadership of John Mahama and Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.”
