The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has revealed plans to kickstart its national campaign with a grand launch in the capital of the Northern Region, Tamale, on Saturday, July 27.
This highly anticipated event marks the beginning of the NDC’s journey back to power after being out of the ruling position for nearly eight years.
During a spirited walk organized by the Greater Accra Regional branch of the party on Saturday, July 20, the NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, declared the imminent launch and highlighted the party’s determination to secure victory in the upcoming elections.
Numerous polls, both local and international, have already indicated a strong likelihood of the NDC emerging victorious and taking the reins of government once again.
At a vibrant rally in the Krowor constituency that followed the walk, all the regional parliamentary candidates were officially introduced, alongside a fervent call for supporters to rally behind both Mr. Mahama and the NDC’s aspiring Members of Parliament to secure a commanding presence in the 9th Parliament.
Former President Mahama urged all party members and well-wishers to actively participate in the campaign for a resounding victory come December.
He stressed the importance of collective ownership of the campaign, emphasizing that its success hinges on the dedication and efforts of every individual involved.
“The campaign belongs to all of us. Let us all actively engage and promote the NDC’s message to our communities,” Mr. Mahama urged.
Looking ahead to Election Day on December 7, which coincides with a Saturday, Mr. Mahama issued a call to action for party faithful to exercise their voting rights and remain vigilant during the electoral process.
He underscored the necessity for agents and party executives to remain accessible and responsive throughout the crucial election day.
On the policy front, Mr. Mahama outlined three key flagship initiatives, including the transformative 24-hour policy aimed at uplifting the lives of Ghanaians.
He also highlighted the National Apprenticeship Scheme, designed to provide vocational training opportunities for individuals who may not have pursued traditional academic paths.
Additionally, Mr. Mahama pledged to establish a Women’s Bank to empower female entrepreneurs and support their vital contributions to the economy.
Stay tuned as the NDC gears up to unveil its manifesto next month in August, further solidifying its vision for a brighter future for Ghana.
