Agotime Partners with HTU for 2024 Kente Festival Extravaganza - WhatsUp News

Agotime Partners with HTU for 2024 Kente Festival Extravaganza

In preparation for the much-anticipated 2024 Kente Festival, the Agotime Traditional Area has joined hands with the Fashion Department of Ho Technical University (HTU) through a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

This collaboration between the Agotime 2024 Kente Festival Entertainment Planning Committee and HTU aims to showcase the innovative use of Kente fabric, pushing boundaries beyond traditional norms.

The festival will feature a fashion show and exhibition, offering a platform for HTU’s fashion design students to display their unique creations.

A key highlight of this partnership is the selection of ten talented students to present their work during the festival, enhancing the university’s fashion program.

Under the terms of the MOU, HTU will oversee student involvement in the design process, ensuring adherence to the festival’s theme.

Additionally, HTU has granted permission for the use of its name and logo in promotional activities related to the festival.

The agreement underscores the mutual commitment to supporting the students’ showcase and acknowledging HTU’s role in the event’s success.

The collaboration, effective for the 2024 Kente Festival exclusively, includes provisions for termination by either party with written notice.

Both parties have agreed to indemnify each other against potential claims arising from the partnership.

The agreement, formalized on Monday, June 10th, 2024, saw Mr. Norbert Kporku and Dr. Daniel Agbeko signing on behalf of the Agotime Traditional Area and HTU’s Fashion Department, respectively.
