NDC Minority Caucus Boycotts Seating

Over Controversial Ato Forson Trial

The NDC Minority Caucus has announced their unwavering support for Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson during the ongoing ambulance case trial, emphasizing their solidarity by prioritizing his court appearances over parliamentary business.

This decision follows the refusal by High Court Judge Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe (Mrs) to grant the request made by the Minority Leader’s legal team for him to attend crucial parliamentary affairs on the upcoming session day, creating a standstill in the representation of the NDC Caucus in significant parliamentary meetings.

In a statement released today as Parliament commences its third meeting of the fourth session, the NDC Minority Caucus expressed concerns over what they perceive as an obstruction by Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe towards Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson’s constitutional duties as both an elected Member of Parliament and the leader of the Minority Caucus.

The NDC Minority Caucus reiterated its commitment to support and defend the Minority Leader whenever he is summoned to court, emphasizing their readiness to exercise all available tools to address legislative matters moving forward.
