Residents of six Electoral Areas in the Volta Region have served notice of intent to demonstrate against the activities of global maritime group, Seven Seas on the 27th of September.
In a notification to the Aflao divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service, the residents said they want to express indignation and and discontentment over the reckless loss of precious lives due to the lawless activities of the company.
“The people of Ketu South especially those around Akame and Lalivikope have endured these losses for the past months and we can no longer accept thios inhumanity to us,” the notice said.
The notice did not exactly explain the reckless activities of the company that is leading to the loss of lives.
Seven Seas is a global maritime services group specializing in the provision of general ship supplies, stores, spare parts, cleaning solutions & leading technical maritime brands through its extensive global network.
The notice to the Police said demonstrators from Akame will converge at Akame school Mission and walk peacefully to Tokor while those from Denu will converge at Denu Lorry Park and walk to Tokor Municipal Assembly.
“We shall present a petition to the president of the Republic of Ghana and the Commander in chief of Ghana Armed Forces or his representatives in Volta Region or Ketu South Municpal Assembly.”
Conveners of the demonstration are Honorables Victor Ayaku, Wilfred Dakunya, Israel Selikem Bossman, David Eglu, Sylvester Kumawu, Mathias Gator and Johnson Agbeko Souzey.
