The Presidency’s expenditure returns as submitted to Parliament shows that in 2020,
Jubilee House blew over Ghc240million on “goods and services.”
Submitted to the Finance Committee of Parliament, the document is said to show that
the better part of the cash went into buying cars.
Ranking Member on the Committee, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has since told Accra based
JoyNews that the said expenditure was more than a 1000 per cent increment over what
was spent in 2016.
According to him the wastage is evidence of how Akufo-Addo and his government have
mismanaged the economy.
“I can tell you that this amount is not useful, it is just way too much because I am
comparing it to the amount we’ve spent in previous years. No government has spent
this much before,” he told host JoyNews’ Raymond Acquah.
Sccording to him, 90 per cent of the money went into the purchase of vehicles.
