Abronye Smears Gold Scam Allegations On Special Prosecutor Over Labianca

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, alias Abronye DC, has slammed Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng as a corrupt gold scammer.

‘’..The SP appointed the former East Legon Police commander, Emmanuel Basintale as his investigator, meanwhile, he was his client who allegedly defrauded Green Global Resources Company Limited of GH¢1.3 million under the pretext of selling 13 gold bars to the company. He and his allies sold gold bars to prospective buyers, only to return and arrest the buyers after payment has been made. So, whose office is the influence of peddling happening”?

”Kissi Agyabeng is not clean- he should resign,” Abronye thundered while speaking on a radio show recently.

The attack from Abronye who is one of the NPP’s loose cannons often deployed as an attack dog comes in the wake of the brouhaha over his report that Madam Asomah Hinneh of the infamous Labiance Frozen Foods Company had unfairly gotten import duty rebates from Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) by means of fraudulent influence peddling.

Madam Hinneh is known to be a major campaign financier of the Akufo Addo political campaign. This may be the reason why the party attack dogs have been set on the Special Prosecutor.

After the SP had concluded his investigation, he issued a report concluding that Labianca had unfairly gotten the rebates and surcharged the company a little over Ghc1million.

However, Kissi Agyebeng immediately came under attack from the NPP and the GRA over the report.

From the end of the GRA,   Colonel Kwadwo Damoah the Commissioner of the Customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) who masterminded the sweetheart deal for Labianca, attacked the age of the SP, publicly stating that Kissi Agyebeng is a small boy who wants to disgrace him.

Then there have been claims from the staff of the GRA that Mr. Agyebeng did a shoddy job while from within the NPP, there have been serious criticisms of the SP.

Abronye DC adds that Kissi Agyebeng is also using his position as SP to recruit members of the opposition NDC into the OSP.

What Kissi Agyebeng is suffering is not dissimilar to what happened to his predecessor, Martin Amidu experienced.

Amidu had been appointed as the first SP by Akufo-Addo in a political move that quickly turned sour when Amidu went after Akufo Addo’s sacred cows.
