The Police on Monday arrested two suspects after a decapitated human head was found in a taxi they were riding in.
The arrest happened at Hobor, a suburb of Obom Domeabra in the Ga South municipality after the taxi they were driving had hit a pothole and stopped with eyewitnesses initially thinking it had been involved in an accident.
However, attempts to rescue the occupants of the vehicle by the eye witnesses led to the discovery of the freshly decapitated human head with blood oozing from its nostrils and mouth.
An alarm was raised and one of the suspects took to his heels. The other one was arrested by the mob and given a beating before he was handed over to the Police who would later trace down the other suspect and arrest him too.
Allegedly, the driver of the vehicle has confessed that they committed murder and that the head belongs to a taxi driver that they had earlier hailed with the pretext of using his services but rather killed him for money ritual.
According to the suspect, while the driver was conveying them, one of them threw a noose around his neck while the other one choked him. Eventually, they cut off the head with the intent of delivering it to one Alhaji for a ritual.
Meanwhile, the head has been deposited at the morgue.
