A lawyer, Francisca Serwaa Boateng, has been slapped with a seven-year suspension by the General Legal Council after she was found guilty of milking her client among other acts of misconduct.
A suspension announcement from the GLC said she was found guilty of six out of seven charges, including charging her client VPS INTERNATIONAL BV a whopping Ghc3,2 million in legal fees.
“Notice is hereby given that Lawyer Francisca Serwaa Boateng has been suspended from legal practice for a period of seven (7) years effective 23rd June 2022. The above-named lawyer was charged with seven counts of professional misconduct contrary to the Rules of the legal profession (professional conduct and etiquette) Rules, 1969 (LI613),” the notice said.
As part of the suspension, Lawyer Boateng who is the Founder and Managing Counsel of FSB Law Consult in Accra must stay away from her Chambers during the period of the suspension.
Ms. Boateng is also an author at Ghana Law Hub.
