Bediatuo Catches I.C. Quaye ‘Stealing’ In Attempted Hijack of Hajj Money

In what can be described as another low in the wishy-washy statecraft of President Akufo-Addo, Executive Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo, has fired a letter to the Chairman of the Hajj Board, ordering him to withdraw a fraudulent appointee designated as a signatory to Ghana’s bank account in Saudi Arabia.

Bediatuo’s letter, a copy of which Whatsup News has intercepted, instructs Sheikh I.C. Quaye to cancel the designation of one Hamza Tanko as a signatory to a Riyadh Bank account of the Pilgrims Affairs Office because the Sheikh’s claim to the Saudi authorities that Mr. Tanko is a member of the Hajj Board and a Director of Finance is a lie.

“The attention of the President has been drawn to a letter dated 15th May 2022 from you addressed to the Ministry of Hajj and Umra of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia purporting to appoint signatories to the Hajj Accounts of the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana held at the Riyadh Bank, Al-Baghdadiya branch in Jeddah in this letter you purport to assign Mr. Hamza Tanko as a signatory to the bank account and describe him as a Board Member/Director of Finance,” Bediatuo fired.

“As you are aware, the President is the appointing authority for all appointments to the Hajj Board and the President is not aware of and has not appointed Mr. Hamza Tanko as a member of the Hajj Board. The purported designation and description of Mr. Hamza Tanko as a Board Member /Director of Finance in your letter is, therefore, without any basis.”

The Executive Secretary at the Jubilee House promptly ordered the cunning I.C Quaye to immediately scrap the name Hamza Tanko from the list of signatories to the account, “and in any other official duties of the Hajj Board.”

The letter had an attachment of a list of the members of the Hajj Board to remind Sheikh I.C. Quaye that the President still remembers the names of the people he appointed to the Hajj Board.

Per the letter, even though President Akufo-Addo never appointed Hamza Tanko as a member of the Hajj Board, I.C. Quaye wrote to the Saudi authorities introducing this Hamza individual as an appointee of the President.

And it was only after Sheikh I.C. Quaye had pulled off the impersonation that the President found out about the shenanigans.
