Share the post "Controller And Accountant General Asks MMDAs To Clean Payrolls"
The Controller and Accountant General has entreated all Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to clean up their various payrolls.
In a release to the press, Mr. Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem announces he has asked these heads to eliminate illegitimate names and the incidence of un-earned salaries from their payroll.
The MDAs are to, “undertake headcount of all the staff in their respective institutions to validate the existence of persons on the payroll, use the electronic salary payment voucher (ESPV) system deployed to them to perform monthly validation of personnel on the payroll and also involve their internal auditors in the validation exercise and where necessary, use them to carry out specific physical identification of staff by making reference to their personnel records.”
It also entreated the MDAs to submit monthly verification reports of staff on the payroll together with the feedback from ESPV system to the Director General, Internal Audit Agency and the Controller and Accountant General latest by the 15th day of the ensuing month.
The release affirmed that it has taken steps to deduct 30% of the salaries of Ministers of State including deputy ministers, District Chief executives of MMDAs at source from 1st April 2022 at source in keeping with the government’s announced austerity measures.
