Akplabanya, a fishing community in the Sege Constituency of the Ada West district of the Greater Accra Region has been submerged by tidal waves.
News reports accompanied by videos, capturing the disaster, show the whole town underneath lording waters in another episode of tidal wave attack.
Townsfolk lament that this latest episode is a reminder of the government’s neglect of the problem.
It is said that to solve the perennial problem of floods from tidal waves, Akplabanya needs either a sea defense wall or a landing beach site, along with the dredging of the Akplaba lagoon.
