January Allowance Of National Service Personnel To Be Paid On March 22

The January 2022 allowance of National Service Personnel may be paid in March, specifically March 22, 2022.

Meaning, nobody knows when the February and March allowances of the personnel will be paid.

The Akufo-Addo government’s not-too-hopeful assurance that January allowances will come in March was conveyed to the personnel by the National President of the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA), Emmanuel Brimpong Akosah in an update on the sorrowful times for NSS personnel in Ghana.

“Upon series of deliberations with Management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) we can authoritatively confirm payment of an allowance for the month of January will be made on Tuesday, March 22 while we implore Management of the Scheme to facilitate payment of allowances for the months of February and March in the shortest possible time,” Mr. Akosah wrote.

He urged agitated NSS personnel to remain calm while the national leadership of NASPA engages government to do the needful.

It is not clear why the allowances of NSS personnel have been delayed but the Akufo-Addo government has been fighting off concerns that it is broke from mismanagement of the economy resultant of a cocktail of corruption and ineptitude that the Administration would conveniently blame on COVID-19.
