Akufo-Addo Hot Over Ghc50,000 Funeral Donation To Foul-Mouth Afia Schwarzenegger

The Akufo-Addo Jubilee House has courted serious anger among “footsoldiers” of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) after it donated a whopping Ghc50,000 for the funeral of the late father of the foul-mouth socialite Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, aka Afia Schwarzenegger.

The angry outbursts stem from complaints that the party’s grassroots are frustrated with poverty and unemployment, but the government is busy splashing money on undeserving individuals who bring no value to the party.

Shortly after the funeral, the controversial Afia Schwarzenegger who made the revelation on social media also revealed that the person who made the money available to her was Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare.

A group within the ruling party, Alliance for Footsoldiers Advocacy (AFFA), has called the donation to Afia Schwarzenegger an insult to hardworking members of the ruling party.

In a statement dated 15th March 2022, AFFA called the gesture a “monkey dey work, baboon dey chop” scenario in which the real workers in favour of the NPP are ignored while an opportunist is rewarded.

“We say this because Afia Schwarzenegger contributed nothing to the NPP’s success/ victory in the 2016 general elections. Rather, and as a matter of fact, she used her platforms to make a mockery of the-opposition leader, candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo prior to the 2016 elections. It is therefore shocking why a few years down the line, with the NPP in power,” AFFA noted.

“The Chief of Staff as well as senior government officials will suddenly forget the pain she caused the party, and reward her beautifully to the annoyance of party members whose toil and sacrifices birthed the fruits of government. AFFA respectfully submits that the era of rewarding opportunistic media personalities masquerading as political influencers at the expense of hardworking party footsoldiers must stop!”

The group, therefore, called on government appointees to “desist from acts which demoralizes the spirit of hardworking party members as we strive to “break the eight”.

In an Instagram post, Afia Schwarzenegger revealed how the Chief of Staff encouraged her to put in the request for the gargantuan donation and other undisclosed assistance to allegedly make the funeral of her late father befitting.

This is the same Chief of Staff who Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, recently revealed gave him a US$120,000 bribe to be lodged into the bank account of runaway Dome Kwabenya MP, Adwoa Sarfo, in an attempt to get Adwoa Sarfo back to Ghana to vote for the approval of the e-levy.

The revelation of the obscene donation has since annoyed Ghanaians who have pointed out that this same government wasting money is the one urging Ghanaians to accept the thievish e-levy meant to help the broke Akufo Addo administration gather badly-needed revenue for social infrastructure.

Calls have also been intensified for the alleged bribe distributing Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare to be investigated over the huge sums that she is wastefully paying out as bribes on behalf of the Akufo-Addo Jubilee House.
