Ghana Courts War With Bulgaria -As Clueless Rogue Police, Land Guards Beat Bulgarian Ambassador Black and Blue

Bulgaria’s Honorary Consul to Ghana, Mr Nicolaas C.M. van Staalduinen, was reportedly assaulted by assailants who had stormed the country’s Consulate in Ghana on Tuesday.

North Tongu MP, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, who revealed this in a Facebook post said the assailants were rogue police officers from the Cantonments Police Command, expressing fear that their action amounts to courting war for Ghana.

Cantonments Police Command has become a notorious den of dirty cops reportedly used as a private militia by President Akufo Addo’s Jubilee House to exert vendetta on political opponents or to settle private scores.

Information available to Whatsup News indicates that these nefarious activities are often carried out by the SWAT team at that Police Command.

“According to eyewitnesses, the armed rogue elements with extra fortification from deviant land guards and errant personnel allegedly from the Cantonments Police Station had the sheer effrontery in broad daylight to evict Bulgarian Embassy staff, throw out inviolable assets belonging to the Bulgarians and assault the Honorary Consul, Mr Nicolaas C.M. van Staalduinen in his effort to restrain them,” Okudzeto Ablakwa wrote.

He added, “Valuables including generators, computers, printers, refrigerators, archival documents which represent a treasure trove of deep historical bonds and a stash of vital diplomatic exchanges were not spared by the marauding encroachers.”

Ablakwa described the assailants, including the Police as “deviants” who reportedly assaulted Mr. Van Staalduinen when he tried to restrain the rogues.

it is not clear what exactly the misunderstanding which led to the attack is. But in the post, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa added photos of communications between the Consulate and the Ghanaian authorities.

The correspondences are between the Embassy, the Foreign Affairs Ministry, and the Lands Commission concerning the restoration and affirmation efforts of the Embassy by Bulgaria.

The North Tongu MP pointed out that the attack constitutes a breach of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

He vowed that the Minority will demand a full-scale investigation into the “bizarre circumstances with the view to identifying all the conspirators and bringing them to justice.”
