The 2022 State of the Nation Address (SONA) will not come off on the March 3 planned date.
This was announced by Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo Markins, in Parliament on Friday, 25th of February 2022.
Afenyo Markins who was speaking on behalf of the Business Committee of Parliament said there was no alternative date and that the Majority side will have to engage with the presidency before an alternative date can be confirmed.
Per Article 67 of the Constitution, the President has to give an update on the State of the Nation to Parliament at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before the dissolution of the House.
