The La State will hold funeral rites for its late Overlord Nii. Dr. Kpobi Tettey-Tsuru lll in March.
A statement released by the La Mantse’s Palace Lumoshishi, Kowe, La, schedules the funeral rites from March 14, 2022, to March 20, 2022.
“Signed by Stool Secretary, J.T. Aryeh, the statement said in commemoration with the royal festival, the La Traditional Council has directed that from Monday, March 7 to Sunday, March 20, 2022, several observances are to be made by all those who live in the traditional area.
They include a ban on all funeral activities; on all merrymaking activities, including marriages, weddings and parties, ban on general noise-making and the clearing of frontages and general environs of houses and other structures.
Residents are also to observe ban on re-painting of houses and structures, the wearing of red and black mourning clothes and the decoration of houses and structures with red and black banners.
“All Lamei and stakeholders are advised to cooperate and go by the outlined directives to help make the forthcoming royal funeral a successful one,” the statement said.
