PAC Chairman Urges Pantang Midwifery School To Alert Interpol Over Run-Away Teacher

The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC), James Klutse Avedzi, has advised the Pantang Nurses and Midwifery Training School to alert the international Police (Interpol) about a teacher who bolted with Ghc70, 000 of the school’s money.

Hon. Avedzi gave the advice during the sitting of PAC in Accra.

“You have to contact the director of Interpol, provide the necessary information about her… so that they can track her,” he told the head of the training school.

The teacher is said to have gotten the money by way of unearned salaries over two years.

She was said to have taken study leave and still drawn salary which in two years accumulated into the Ghc70, 000.

Then, after finishing her studies, the teacher did not return to the school but traveled out of the country.

Meanwhile, Mr. Avedzi has also asked that the woman’s family step up and pay the money if they can.

“If any relative of hers is listening to us, then they should make the effort and contact the school immediately and make the appropriate arrangements and pay the money,” the chairman of the committee said.
