9 New Deaths Spike Ghana’s COVID-19 Death Toll To 1,404

Nine more people died in late January from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the national death toll to 1,404.

This is according to the latest figures from the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

As of January 26, the death toll stood at 1,395. However, between January 26 and January 29th, nine more people died from the virus, proving that the virus is still deadly.

According to the GHS, there currently are 1,392 active cases across the country. 14 of them are severe while 4 are critical.

As of January 29, 88 new infections had been recorded in four regions – Greater Accra (55), Upper West (6), Volta (1), and Bono (1) regions – and the Kotoka International Airport – 25 new cases.

These additional cases bring Ghana’s confirmed Covid-19 cases to 157,220.

So far 154,424 infected people who showed signs of recovery from the various health institutions have been discharged.
