Zambian High Commission Confirms Suspected Murder Of Citizen In Ghana

The Zambian High Commission in Ghana says it has received reports from the Ghana Police about the possible murder of a Zambian citizen in Ho, the Volta regional capital recently.

In a press release dated 24th of November, 2021, the Mission said the victim is a 22-year-old woman who may have been killed by her boyfriend suspected to be on the run from the law.

“A Zambian national by the name of Elizabeth Mudenda, aged 22 years old was found dead by neigbhours in Ho, Volta Region on Monday, 22nd November 2021. The neighbours discovered the body of the deceased in the house of the named boyfriend following the detection of a strong stench in the house,” the statement from the High Commission read.

“The Ho Police Command in Volta Region are still investigating the murder and have since launched a manhunt for the boyfriend who is the prime suspect in the murder of the deceased as he is now on the run,” the statement said.

It added that In the meantime, the Police have informed the family of the deceased in Zambia.

“The body of the deceased was deposited in the Ho Municipality Hospital Morgue for autopsy, and an update will be provided once the investigations have been concluded,” the statement said, adding, “The Mission in Accra is deeply saddened by this unfortunate incident and wishes to convey its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased,” stated the High Commission.
