NDC Marks First Anniversary Of Rawlings’ Passing

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has observed the first anniversary of the passing of its founder and former President, Jerry John Rawlings.

A week-long requiem is being organized together with the family of the late former President.

On Thursday, 11th November 2021, the NDC held a vigil in all the Regional Party offices except the Greater Accra. 

Then on Friday, 12th November 2021, a remembrance mass was held at the Holy Spirit Cathedral at Adebraka in Accra, after which the headstone for his grave was unveiled at a wreath-laying ceremony at the Military Cemetery at Burma Camp where Rawlings is buried.

Also, a program of Commemorative Speeches in memory of the late founder of the NDC will be held at the party’s headquarters followed by a photo exhibition headquarters has been held.

Jeremiah John Rawlings, founding President and First Head of State of the 4th Republic died on November 12, 2021, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.
