Teacher Trainees Lament Six Months Arrears Of Allowances

Thousands of teacher trainees are expressing frustration over continuous delays in the payment of teacher trainee allowances, serving notice that a press conference will be held in the coming days to communicate a line of action to be taken over the issue.

In a statement released to the press, the group which calls itself Coalition of Concerned Teacher Trainee Association (CCTT) said they are highly disappointed in the Akufo-Addo government for starving the hapless students.

“We are highly saddened and disappointed in the government of the Republic of Ghana for its failure to pay teacher trainees allowances that have been outstanding for six months,” their statement said.

The statement also expressed disappointment in their mother association, the Teacher Trainee Association of Ghana (TTAG) which they accuse of failing to bite after a three-week ultimatum given to the government to pay them elapsed.
