NDC Issues Disclaimer Over Gun-Branded T-Shirts

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a disclaimer over some T-shirts branded in the party’s colors and emblazoned with images of guns.

The main opposition party is frantically dissociating itself from the branded shirts because it claims it is promoting violence build-up to the 2024 elections.

The disclaimer which is signed by the party’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, dissociates the party from the shirts which provocatively bear the designs of a gun and a ballot box with a hand casting a vote.

Also, the shirts bear the inscription, “do or die,” reminiscent of an idiomatic expression used by the party’s 2020 presidential candidate, ex-President John Dramani Mahama.

Mr. Sammy Gyamfi describes the images as “despicable.”

“These despicable images, some of which bear what looks like the logo and official colours of the NDC, appear to portray violence under a misguided and malicious misrepresentation of “Do or Die,” charged Sammy Gyamfi.

“We wish to state without any equivocation that neither the NDC nor any of its assigns has sanctioned this paraphernalia which are the obvious creation of some faceless individuals who are up to mischief. The General Public is hereby urged to disregard such images and treat them with the contempt they deserve,” the statement said.
