The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Awutu Senya East in the Central Region has gone to the aid of Abdul Latif Issah, a victim of gun violence during the 2020 election.
Latif who can no longer walk or work has been saddled with the education of his two daughters and was not sure how he was going to educate them to the Senior High Level.
But the Awutu Senya East NDC has taken on that responsibility for him.
“I can no longer work, as an employee of STC, State Transport Corporation, I cannot work but STC has been doing a lot for me. But I am very happy with what the NDC has done for me today. Am full of joy and tears,” Latif said.
At the Divine Grace Academy where the children attend school, the headmaster promised to take good care of them.
The NDC delegation had been led by the 2020 Parliamentary candidate for the area, Naa Koryor. She called on organizations and well-meaning Ghanaians to come to the aid of the other numerous victims of the 2020 elections.
“Naa Koryor, NDC 2020 Parliamentary Candidate for Awutu Senya East came on board; the Small Arms, the Peace Council, they were all in Kasoa to talk about keeping the peace in Kasoa. But after the elections, the shooting incidents in Kasoa, none of these organisations have even called us or have even come to the aid of these victims to assess the situation in Kasoa. The Police have also not done the same so we are calling on these bodies, that it shouldn’t just be about lip talk, but they should work the action,” the victim lamented.
