Presiding Archbishop and general overseer of the Action Chapel International ministry, Nicholas Duncan Williams, has said that the concerted attempts by pro-gay activists to resist the anti-LGBTQI+ Bill in Parliament are a sign of the end times as foretold by the Bible.
In a sermon, he told his congregation that the gay debate happening in Ghana at the moment may be a culture shock to many Ghanaians but that the Bible had foretold it.
He pointed out that in the past, Ghanaians believed that end-time events such as civil wars and homosexuality were events that would happen anywhere else but Ghana, however, these things are now themes in Ghana.
“They said we will see homosexuals and wars in other countries but Ghana is a peaceful country and will never experience something like this but here we are.” He said.
The preacher described the gay agenda and its railroad into Ghana as Satan himself pursuing innocents.
“Why must the devil pursue the innocent at this level of speed and progress if the end time is truly not near?” Archbishop Duncan Williams asked his congregation.
He also revealed that he has had several visions and revelations about other things that are about to befall Ghana.
This is the first time the cleric has publicly spoken about the ongoing gay rights debate which has been instigated by a bill in Parliament seeking to criminalize LGBTQI+ activities.
The bill is being pushed by eight MPs, seven of whom are from the NDC.
The bill has been a source of controversy because while the overwhelming majority of the Ghanaian people support it, a few, including a cohort of 18 intellectuals and prominent Ghanaians have kicked against it.
These intellectuals are led by the Lawyer of President Akufo-Addo, Akoto Ampaw.
