Every member, supporter or sympathizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is disallowed from turning up at any recruitment center in the North East Region for recruitment into any of the security services, according to the North East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nurudeen Fuseini.
The NPP Chairman has warned that as part of measures to ensure that only NPP adherents get recruited, the NPP in the region will undertake critical observation of the recruitment list to winnow out all NDC supporters.
And the preclusion extends to anybody who is known to have criticized the NPP government of Nana Akufo-Addo.
“As you’re aware, recruitments into the security services are underway. I encourage all party members to send in their applications. If you had ever come out as an NDC supporter to criticize the NPP, we will fish you out and remove your application”, the Chairman declared on a local radio station.
Nurudeen said point blank that they will disregard due process and build a list of only NPP recruits from the region.
“I have to be honest with you”, he continued. “For us as a party in the region, we will disregard the so-called due process, we are going to apply our set of party rules because we are in power,” he is quoted as telling party supporters.
