The armed carnage on the streets of Ghana continues with the latest gunning down of the proprietor of Bright Star International School, Frederick Ohene Gyan this weekend.
The deceased who is also said to be the owner of Bright Stars Football Academy was allegedly killed while entering his house on Friday night.
In what appears to be a pre-meditated hit on the young entrepreneurs at Pokrom in the Akuapem South Municipality of the Eastern Region, sources say the entrepreneur may have been trailed by the gunmen and shot at point-blank range.
An eyewitness who spoke to the press said she heard the 35-year-old Ohene Gyan screaming for help after he had been shot.
The unnamed eyewitness said the screaming forced her to go to the aid of the victim who was crawling in his own pool of blood.
Gyan was rushed to the Nsawam Government Hospital but was pronounced dead a few hours later.
At the crime scene, the Police found an empty pistol shell and bloodstains as a manhunt is launched for the assailants.
This is the latest gun violence coming closely in the heels of an ambush and killing in the Northern Region of British Journalist Talaay Ahmed, London-based TV channel, MTA-London, by gunmen.
Security experts believe the growing gun violence in the country is a result of the proliferation of arms in the run-up to the 2020 elections.
These guns are said to have found their way into the hands of political party militias who are believed to be behind some of the recent shootings and armed robbery cases in the country.
