#FixTheCountry Demo Finally Set For August 14. -Details out.

After surmounting a spirited plan by the Ghana Police Service (GPS) to suppress the #FixTheCountry youth group from protesting against systemic rot in Ghana, the group has been given a green light for a street protest on August 14, 2021.

The group has since issued a detailed plan of its protest match.

The demonstration march will kick off in Accra’s principal streets, starting from the popular “Obra Spot” near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle and end at the Blackstar Square, Accra.

Protestors will be assisted by a detachment of reluctant Police personnel who will be directing the routes of the event to prevent obstruction of pedestrian or vehicular traffic.

The Conveners, in a press statement, stated that persons coming for the protest are to assemble at Obra Spot at 6:30 am. The march will commence at 8:00 am.

“The protest march will go through the Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, to Farisco Traffic Lights. We will then take a left towards TUC, then continue on the road leading past Kinbu Senior High School to join the John Evans Atta Mills High Street. We will then proceed to Independence Square, where the Crowd will be addressed and subsequently dispersed,” a statement from the viral youth group read.

The group added that “We expect the crowd to start dispersing around 2 pm after they have been addressed at the Independence Square.”

Meanwhile, all protestors are advised to adhere to all public health protocols and come clad in facemasks and adhere to strict COVID-19 guidelines.
