Mahama Flies Passion Air On Successfully Demonstration Flights to Ho

On Saturday, 03 July 2021, Passion Air operated a demonstration flight to Ho, the Volta Region capital and connected it to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Aboard the flight was former President John Dramani Mahama who is credited for constructing the Ho Airport during his tenure in office.

According to a statement from PassionAir, “The demonstration flight was to ascertain the technical performance of our aircraft operation into Ho airport and to collect the necessary data for our planned operations on the route, as well as connectivity between Ho and Kumasi.”

“It is our goal and commitment to seamlessly connect destinations within Ghana with the ultimate aim of boosting the domestic travel market in the country.”

When construction work started, President Mahama had been criticised for building a “hen coop” for an airport. However, upon completion, the airport is one of the most modern domestic airports in the country.

“We wish to thank the Regulator, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and their inspectors on board the flight, the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) and the personnel at the Ho airport for the warm reception we received on arrival,” PaasionAir said.

PassionAir is one of the main domestic flights in Ghana and it operates daily flights to and from Accra, Kumasi, Tamale and Takoradi.
