NMC Orders “Almighty” Sefa Kayi To Apologize To Former DVLA Boss

Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Morning show host, Kwame Sefa Kayi, has been directed to dismount from his high horse and render an unqualified apology to a former head of the Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr. Yao Amegashie.

The order is coming from the National Media Commission (NMC) and Mr. Sefa Kayi is to either render the apology or lose his broadcasting practitioner’s license.

Being a titan of the airwaves in Ghana, many are eagerly on the lookout to see if Almighty Kwame Sefa Kayi, host of Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show and an alleged paragon within the dreaded ‘Coffee Shop Mafia’ will eat humble pie.

Mr. Sefa Kayi is rep[orted to have badmouthed Mr. Amegashie in a recording to the effect that when the late President Mills had appointed him to head the DVLA, he had recycled a bad relic.

Reportedly, Sefa Kayi is said to have alleged that Amegashie had been sacked by the erstwhile Kufur government from the DVLA in 2001, however, when the NDC came to power, then President Mills had appointed him to the same position.

Sefa Kayi is said to have then concluded that the appointment of Amegashie by Mills was not right (fishy).

Mr. Yao Amegashie is said to have ordered his lawyers to complain about Sefa Kayi with the NMC.

After years of investigation, the NMC concluded that Sefa Kayi was wrong and therefore ordered the respected radio titan to apologize.

The apology is to be rendered on his program and also on Peace FM’s online platform.

The NMC which says that it would have convicted him to a fine if it had the powers reminds Sefa Kayi that it has the powers to withdraw his license as a broadcaster and that if he does not apologize they will withdraw the license.
