Three File To Contest GJA Presidency

A total of three persons had filed to contest to be President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) as at the close of nominations on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

The priospects include Gayheart Mensah, a Media Consultant, Dave Agbenu, Editor of the Ghanaian Times newspaper and Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor of the Atinka Media Village.

Once the nominations are approved, the trio will go through an election for a successor to outgoing President, Mr. Roland Affail Monney.

Meanwhile, in addition to the candidates for the Presidency, other people have also filed nominations to contest for other positions in the GJA. Ms. Linda Asante-Agyei of the Ghana News Agency (GNA) has filed to contest to be Vice President of the Association.

Two persons, Kofi Yeboah and Akwasi Agyeman of the Multimedia Group have also filed to contest for the position of General Secretary.

Mrs. Audrey Dekalu, GNA has filed to contest for the position of Treasurer while Ms. Mary Mensah, the Foreign Editor of the Graphic Communications Group Limited and Mr. Dominic Hlordze of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation have filed to contest for the position of Organizing Secretary.

Mrs. Rebecca Ekpe of the GBC and Caesar Abagali of the GNA have filed to contest for the office of Public Affairs.
