3 Drown In Volta Lake

Three people reportedly drowned in the Volta Lake today when a canoe they were traveling in capsized.

According reports, the incident happened at Kpandu with the canoe reportedly  hit by a maelstrom.

One of the victims has been identified as Evelyn Gadagoe, a final year student of Kadjebi-Asato Senior High School.

She together with 8 other passengers on the canoe had been thrown overboard after the canoe capsized. Along with her, two others drowned. 

Six others on the canoe survived, Whatup News has gathered.

Evelyn become the focus of the tragedy because she was said to be on her way to her okro farm to harvest okro for sale in order to raise money for school.

Meanwhile, the Volta Lake tragedy is coming just days after some 20 teenagers reportedly drowned at a beach in Apam in the Central Region.
