Apathetic EC Closes Down For One Month

In a rather bizarre turn of even, the Jean Mensa-led Electoral Commission (EC) has served notice that the entire Commission is going on a one-month break to cool off from the election blues.

The entire EC will be on holiday from Wednesday, December 23, 2020, to January 19, 2021.

In a release signed by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Bossman Asare, the EC stated: “Following the successful and peaceful conduct of the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections, Management has decided that the Commission will break for Christmas and New Year on Wednesday, 23rd December 2020 and resume duty on Tuesday, 19th January 2021.”

This is the first time in the history of Ghana that the EC is totally shutting down for that long to celebrate Christmas immediately after one of the bloodiest elections in the history of the country.

The EC claims the election was “successful and peaceful”, yet, almost 8 people have been shot dead during the elections and dozens have sustained injuries.

Also, this is the most dubious election as the EC boss, Jean Mensa has declared the presidential election results more than six times with totally different election figures and tallies each time.

The scandalous elections have sparked serious tension in the country with spontaneous protests erupting across the country as citizens protest what they describe as a rigged election.

Also, in one of the rarest display of dissatisfaction with the conduct of the elections by the EC, the biggest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, have refused to concede defeat, saying they have incontrovertible evidence to show that the winning votes of John Mahama were switched for the incumbent President Nana Akufo Addo.

Earlier, due to the extreme tension caused by the contentious elections, the EC boss, Jean Mensa reportedly sneaked out of the country to the United States but was allegedly returned immediately.

Whatsup News obtained a secret video from reliable sources showing what they say is the EC boss disguised as an invalid in a wheelchair to throw off prying eyes when she was reportedly bounced back from her attempt to sneak out of the conflagration of agitations her contentious election declaration had caused.
