Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) may have criminally changed the results of the Essikado-Ketan Parliamentary election to overturn the claimed victory of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah for Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joe Ghartey.
This is because Dubawa Ghana, a fact-checking media company has reported that its investigation of the issue led to revelations that per a source code, the EC indeed removed one file on results that it had posted from the 2020 Parliamentary elections after the EC had uploaded it on its website.
“With the possibility that the EC uploaded and later deleted the document being shared by the claimants, we conducted a search in the webpage’s source code and discovered that within the chain of other results uploaded on Thursday, one file had been removed after it was uploaded.”
This file has to do with what critics have described as the EC’s criminal removal of results from Essikado-Ketan that added up to 100.33% of the total votes cast.
The EC hurriedly removed the results of the constituency from its website after the mathematical impossibility was flagged amidst shock among members of Essikado-Ketan NDC who insist that the final collation at the constituency saw Dr. Ayensu-Da
