Nurses Brainwashing Patients For Akufo-Addo

The unprecedented violation of public institutions with partisan politics has seen agents of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) asking Nurses of public hospitals in the Volta Region to persuade patients into voting for Akufo-Addo.

Yesterday, Ghanaians were shocked when news emerged that there actually is an association of NPP Nurses and Midwives and that the party was meeting with the Volta regional branch of the Association to canvas for votes from them.

It was at this meeting that Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide, was heard asking Nurses to turn the Out Patient Departments of the various hospitals where they work into campaign grounds for votes for Akufo-Addo.

According to Hadzide, the Nurses should take advantage of the medical attention times, including during the administration of injections and the gauging of vitals including temperature and heart pressure investigations to brainwash patients.

“…Your work is very, very important; people will believe what you tell them because you hold our lives in your hands. So when you go back to the Hospitals from tomorrow, not only are you going to vote number 1, but importantly, everybody you see between now and the 6th of December makes sure those votes become NPP votes by the time they leave your consulting rooms,” Hadzide chirped.

“And I know that you can do. The things that you do, when you are taking our vitals, the things that you do with us when you are giving us injections; those are the moments that Nana Akufo-Addo’s message of continuation of hope must be given to our people in the Volta Region.”

The strange proposal has led to questions as to whether a brainwashed Nurse who feels a particular patient is unreceptive to her message may not intentionally prevent care from such patients.
