Gender Minister’s Campaign Car in Hit-and-Run

A campaign car said to belong to the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Cynthia Mamle Morrison knocked down and killed a trader at Babianiha, near Agona Sweduro in the Central Region.

The car’s driver, one Ato, said to be the personal bodyguard of the Minister, took to his heels and absconded after the accident. The Police are currently on a manhunt for him, Whatsup News gathered.

The Toyota Corolla with registration number GN-2537-16 was reportedly over-speeding during a campaign float for the Gender Minister who is also the MP for Agona West.

Ato, the speed-monster bodyguard of the Minister who was driving was flagged several times to slow down but he did not; until he hit Nana Yaa, the hapless trader, reports eyewitnesses.

The trader, said to be in her late 30s, was rushed to the Agona Swedru government hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Her body has since been deposited at the hospital’s morgue, awaiting autopsy.

She left behind six children.
