Hundreds of drowning cattle were part of properties worth of hundreds of thousands of Ghana cedis that were lost in the flooding of the Savannah region caused by the twin occurrences of torrential rains and the spillage of the Bagre Dam in the Northern part of the country.

Videos are circulating on social media capturing cattle being washed away like flotilla in the currents of the heavy flood waters which have since cut away Bolgatanga from Bawku in the Upper East region.

Already, six people have died as well.

In the videos, the hapless cattle are seen being caused away as some moo for help that cannot be given.

The floods started last weekend when torrential rains overwhelmed the region and the Bagre dam was coincidentally spilled at the same time.

The National Disaster Management Organization says it has been trying to reach people, however, the floodwaters have made it difficult to reach desperate people with help.
