The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched its much-anticipated says its 2020 manifesto will help it win the upcoming general elections.
Among the key highlights of the manifesto are ambitious tax reliefs to small businesses and entrepreneurs; free technical education (TVET) and an overhaul of Ghana’s monopolistic legal education.
Other projections of the NDC include, a GhC10,billion infrustructural development fund nicknamed “The Big Push”, enhancing financial inclusion through non-interest bearing financial products and boosting investment financing by recapitalising the National Investment Bank, etc.
According to the NDC’s Chairman of the Manifesto Committee, Professor Kwaku Danso Boafo said the proposed policies in the manifesto are workable because it was drafted with verifiable data.
The NDC’s manifesto launch comes two weeks after the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) had launched its own manifesto about two weeks ago. However, the NPP manifesto was drowned by the raging scandal of the Agyapa Royalties Limited, where the Akufo Addo administration is being blamed to have schemed to hijack Ghana’s mining royalties.
