The head of the Association of Affected Customers of Savings and Loans institutions, Ezekiel Annor, has raised the alarm over a crystalizing scheme by government to trap the monies of about 87% of customers of the various Savings and Loans companies which were collapse by government.
In an interview with Joy FM today, Mr. Annor implied that President Akufo-Addo himself is leading the crafty heist, with his recent announcement that 98% of depositors monies have been refunded.
According to Mr. Annor, only 10% of depositors’ monies have been refunded with the majority of the customers strangely told that their files and details could not be located.
Mr. Annor made it clear that the President’s claim that 98% of depositors have been paid is a lie.
“We sense a deliberate attempt that about 87% of our people are going to be denied payments,” he told respected news anchor, Emefa Appau.
The bombshell comes after President Akufo-Addo had told Koforidua based Sunrise FM that 98% of depositors at the microfinance and savings and loans been have paid.
According to him, the rest would be paid by the end of August 2020.
According to Ezekiel Annor, the Bank of Ghana has said that about 3.3million have had their monies locked up because of the closures but his checks showed that only about 297,000, which is less than 10% of the total number, have received their monies.
