Osofo Dadzie Is Dead

Veteran actor and movie producer, Frimpong Manso, whose character, Osofo Dadzie, in the 80s and 90s hit drama series, Akan Drama, became a household name for its sagacity, has died.

He reportedly died sometime today after he had battled an unknown illness for some time. 

He was full of years though, at 89 years.

The news of his passing was confirmed by Clement Bonney, aka Mr. Beautiful on Accra based Okay FM.

“His sister called me to inform me this morning because I was one of the last people who saw him last month,” Mr. Beautiful said.

As lead character in the Osofo Dadzie television drama, he is remembered as the calm and fatherly sage who would always close every episode with nuggets of wisdom.

Due to the maturity that he brought to every episode, his character’s name became synonymous with the drama series and most popular of all the characters.

He later became a Producer after taking a bow from acting.
