Victor Stephen Nana Kankam, the owner of a house at Ofankor, a suburb of Accra, is in the grips of the Police after he allegedly shot his tenant dead for owing him rent.
The crime was committed when Spark Benjamine, an underground musician allegedly refused to vacate a room that Kankam had rented out to him.
Suspect allegedly shot the deceased multiple times in the ensuing argument, leading to his death.
According to reports, a fatally wounded Spark Benjamine was first rushed to the Police station at Ofankor, before the Police, rushed him to the Police Hospital. However, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A team of investigators led by the District Commander of Police, DSP George Asare proceeded to the crime scene where they saw a bloodied entranceway to the deceased apartments and also four spent bullet shells.
The Police then proceeded to the landlord’s home at Ofankor and arrested him, after a search of his home, had revealed two pump action guns loaded with seven and eight rounds of cartridges each, along with 32 live cartridges.
Kankam has since been detained while the body of Benjamine has been deposited at the mortuary.
