Dead Body Tests Positive To Covid-19 In Ghana -Despite Being Negative Before death

In what has raised further suspicions about the testing protocols used in Ghana to identify potential Covid-19 patients, a post mortem examination of a deceased individual has revealed a positive test for Covid-19, even though when the person was alive tests proved negative.

The family of the unidentified deceased had insisted on a test to confirm the cause of death, resulting in the conflicting test results, Whatsup News gathered.

Accra-based Joy News interviewed pathologists at the Ga East Hospital who admitted that there is indeed a problem with the Covid-19 tests conducted by research centres in the country.

“I have done two cases that results came as negative that the family wanted to know. But subsequent test that we did during the post mortem proves positive…it tells us a lot about the sensitivity of what we are using to test-the PCR,” the medical officer told the radio station.

Already, data from the Ghana Health Services (GHS) of Confirmed tests have been disputed following serious discrepancies.

Critics are certain that officials are withholding vital test information and Covid-19 confirmation from the general public.

“It is disturbing, frightening and puzzling that two persons who tested negative while alive were found to be positive during a post mortem. Equally disturbing, this would not have been known but for their families who insisted on the post mortems. This raises many questions about our data, tests, protocols, postmortem requirements, etc. many of which cannot be answered by us laymen, who need the answers to advise our families,” Ghanaian US-base law Professor Kwaku Asare wrote on his social media platform today.
