Bice Osei Kuffour “Obuor”, the former President of the Music Association of Ghana (MUSIGA) has ordered his lawyers to warn the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (GARH) to release the autopsy report of his father who died at the hospital on March 27, 2020.
Obuor’s father- Nana Osei Boansi Kuffour, who returned to Ghana from the United Kingdom on March 19, 2020, is said to have developed symptoms similar to that of the deadly Covid-19 coronavirus and is believed to have died as a result of the novel disease.
However, Obuor is not satisfied with the speculations and has ordered his lawyers to officially demand an autopsy report. “We are informed by our Client that since the death of the deceased, they have not received any communication from your outfit regarding the requisite procedures to be undertaken to ensure that the family is able to plan for the aftermath of the death.” Wrote the law firm , Smith and Adelaide.
Obuor who has come under serious public backlash for what reportedly exposing over 20 nurses and doctors to the deadly coronavirus because, according to reports, he held back from telling the handlers of his father that he may have contracted the highly contagious Covid-19.
The MUSIGA President wants the autopsy to officially determine the cause of death and that he is ready to institute an independent autopsy if the GARH does not have medical officers to undertake the autopsy.
“If the medical facility is not in the position to undertake the autopsy within the shortest possible time, our Client will offer to contract an Independent medical officer to undertake the autopsy, subject to the safety measures and regulations governing such procedures,” the lawyers wrote.
Meanwhile, the government has launched an investigation into reports that Obuor exposed his infected father to unsuspecting medical personnel who attended to his father.
Commenting on the matter on Sunday, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, disclosed that a full report on the matter should be ready by Wednesday, April 2, 2020.
“The initial brief that came in was to the effect that this patient [Obuor’s father] has a prior condition and has been tested…and that his earlier test was not disclosed either to the persons who were picking him up in the ambulance or the persons in the emergency room that had to receive him first,” Kojo Oppong Nkrumah was quoted in reports on the bizarre behaviour of the former MUSIGA boss, who is also an aspiring Parliamentary candidate for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Apparently Obuor’s father- Nana Osei Boansi Kuffour, had returned to Ghana from the United Kingdom sick and had suspected him to have contracted the deadly Covid-19. But he claimed he tested his father for Malaria and it turned up positive.
