NDC’s Ayarigah Forced Into Mandatory Quarantine

The Speaker of Parliament Prof. Mike Ocquaye has directed Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga to stay away from Parliament and quarantine himself to establish his Covid-19 coronavirus status.

Ayariga is one of 10 MPs and five staff ordered to stay away from the lawmaking chamber after they had returned from Covid-19 epicentres abroad.

The Speaker had written to the embattled MP on March 20, 2020 and was supposed to stay away from his colleagues till March 27, 2020 (Today).

The letter urged him to report to the medical director in parliament for review before he resumes duty in the house.

“I am instructed by the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament Prof. Mike Ocquaye to inform you that in view of your recent return to Ghana from a foreign trip on March 12, and in conformity with the World Health Organization protocols aimed at preventing the spread of Coronavirus, you are required to observe the minimum two week period of self-isolation in your residence,” the letter said.
