Gov’t Sprays Markets In Kumasi Over Coronavirus

Government’s fumigation exercise targeted at markets around the country reached Kumasi today.

All major markets in the Ashanti regional capital were sprayed with the chlorine solution that is supposedly effective against the deadly Coronavirus.

As part of the fumigation exercise which is being executed by the Ministry of Local Government, all markets were put under lockdown.

A total of 43 markets were shut to the public to make way for the fumigation.

The Kumasi exercise follows an earlier one on Monday in Accra.

 Similarly, markets including Makola, Agbogbloshie and those in Tema were blasted with chlorine solution on Monday.

Local Government Minister, Hajia Alima Mahama, has said that the Chlorine solution being sprayed in the markets have been recommended by the World Health Organization.
