National Service Personnel Directed To Take Mandatory Leave Over Coronavirus

National Service personnel across the country are to take their mandatory paid- annual leave effective Wednesday, March 25 till the end of April 2020, per a directive from Administrators.

A statement signed by Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Mustapha Ussif, directed all newly posted nurses who are due to begin work in April to also take a month’s leave in April as their terminal leave.

These arrangements replace the annual terminal leave granted to all national service personnel which is the last month of their service period, the directive said.

as a consequence, personnel will be at the post in the last month of national service after they hopefully return to work after the Covid-19 scare has cleared.

The statement said the directives were arrived at following a circular by the Public Services Commission’s recommending that all interns, national service personnel, NABCO Officers and other non-essential staff take their leave.
