Three Ghanaians Dead From Coronavirus-Foreign Ministry Confirms

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey has confirmed that three Ghanaians have so far been killed by the deadly Coronavirus (Covid-19) global pandemic.

The three are all resident in Europe, including a 69-year-old. Two of the casualties are based in Italy, while the other is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Italy currently has the highest recorded Covid-19 cases in the world with over 31,000 cases with 2,500 deaths. Denmark has a total of 1,050 recorded cases with four deaths-one of which is a Ghanaian.

At home in Ghana, there are over 7 officially recorded cases. These patients have reportedly been in contact with over 350 people who may potentially be Covid-19 cases on the prowl.

Latest global data indicates that approximately 208,000 people have been infected with 8,279 recorded deaths worldwide. China is still the country with the highest recorded case of over 80,000 people.

The virus reportedly originated in Wuhan-China, where it allegedly escapes from a bio-research facility.
