Approximately 1,400 persons got injured while about 300 people have reportedly died from road crashes in Ghana between January and March 2020.
Statistics from the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) shows that this year is already becoming the most fatal in terms of road accidents, because there has so far been over 1,900 recorded road accidents.
The latest was the gory accident over the weekend on the Kintampo-Tamale highway that claimed about 30 lives and injured several others. The dead were burned beyond recognition when a Yutong bus and another vehicle were involved in a head-on collision.
This year’s statistics is rapidly racking up and may surpass last year’s figure, analysts are predicting. In 2019, a total of 2,284 lives were lost in accidents.
