A Constituency Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) reportedly lost consciousness today after angry youth of the party gave him a hot chase.
George Kyei Baffour, Constituency Chair for Asante-Akim South, was rudely shaken out of his sedentary comforts when the youth made a grab for him over allegations he is plotting to monopolize upcoming Parliamentary primary for the sitting MP.
It is alleged that he has proscribed everybody in the party from contesting against incumbent MP, Kwame-Anyimadu Antwi.
In his bid to save dear life, the Chairman, took to his heels, however he soon plunged to the ground unconscious, according to reports. Apparently the sprint was rather overwhelming.
The Chairman’s collapse apparently evoked empathy from the angry youth because they did not take advantage of his helplessness to beat the living day light out of him like had earlier been planned.
But the angry youth have since been warning that Asante-Akim South NPP is not going to choose its Parliamentary Candidate by king making tactics. They swear, their next Parliamentary Candidate will be chosen democratically.
They have also denounced their Chairman as a dictator. “Mr Kyei Baffour has restricted everyone from picking a form to contest against Mr Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi and that is a clear sign of ‘dictocracy’ and not democracy,” one unidentified member of the angry youth said.
